We understand and care about your learning experience!
Truly our goal is to entertain you into learning!
At the age of 19 I became a licensed minister. I was a youth pastor, associate pastor and senior pastor during the next 10 years of my life. I decided to go into insurance as another vocation at the same time, so in 1992 I passed the insurance pre-licensing exam and began my career as an insurance agent. After 18 years of selling insurance out in the field, I started teaching insurance classes as well. I found that the stories of what I had experienced in selling insurance worked well in teaching both prelicense and continuing education classes.
In July of 2001 my wife and I started a non-profit organization called Soul Food Cafe Mission. Our goal is to reach out to the hurting with love, compassion and hope. Our website is at www.soulfoodcafemission.org. This is a ministry that helps people that are hurting because of a relationship gone south, or finances in ruin for whatever reason. We reach out to anyone in need by providing food, clothing, hot meals, toiletries, elementary school children with food in backpacks, homeless community, laundry mat, showers, haircuts, mobile laundry shower and soup kitchen trucks. This was all made possible through the Lord using my insurance career path that gave me both time and money to do His work.
The National Alliance contacted me in 2018 and interviewed me to possibly become a teacher for them. They told me that I had to be certified with the designation of the class that I would teach. I decided to go back as a student in the classroom again, and gained my CISR and CIC designations with The National Alliance. In 2019 I became a National Alliance instructor for the Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives (CISR), and later on gained the designation of Society of Certified Insurance Counseling (CIC). I now teach around the nation for the National Alliance for both CISR and CIC courses.
Because of my extensive time listening to instructors and taking tests myself, I have gained and developed creative teaching techniques that help each student grasp the information to be able to use it in exam taking as well as in their career field. I believe that learning brings confidence, and confidence brings success.
When I was 12 years old, my Dad took me to his business class that he taught for Allen Hancock College in California. Even at this young age, I was amazed at his teaching style. He would give his students a case study of a business situation and ask the class how they would handle it. He had great class participation. His students were leaning in to be a part and their faces were alert and eager to learn. I even enjoyed what my Dad was teaching at 12 year of age sitting in a college business course! My Dad taught me a lot about being a manager. He taught me principles that do not change, and work even in today's environment. I am excited to share these principles in an exciting way so that you can learn while enjoying yourself. The best part about learning is incorporating what you have learned in real life. You see how much what you learned help pass your exam and even bring solutions to the workplace, increasing your profitability. I truly see my classes as an investment for you with returns in being more confident, incorporating ideas that work, and profitability!
I actually look at the classroom as a way to invest in the career paths of each student. I want them to leave the class with fresh, new ideas to help them grow in insurance and business management.

Learning brings confidence, growth and stability to yourself, your family and your business. A good investment will bring great returns. Success never comes by accident, but it always comes when we apply ourselves to a goal. Achieving something that you want always takes discipline, time and smart work.
